Here's the deal,
I drive My runner 75-80 mile's a day on the street then I go play on rubicon, fordyce, High lakes, etc on the weekends.

In the last week I punctured a sidewall on my BFG MT's and today had one separate on me while on the freeway. I put my bfg all terains from my low rider cruiser on it so I could drive it to work tomorrow, but I need tires within the next 2 weeks so let me know what you all like and think would work the best for me.

I'm favoring the Radial Irok's right now but I've heard they wear out quick on the street.\

let me also say that I can fit 39's with my lift but I'm thinking 36-38's

mt/rs all the way for a dd and trail rig great rode manners and last a wile and not as loud as most tires

I'd say either the BFG's or MTR's with that much street use. I saw an IROK at Fordyce with about a 8-10 inch slash in the sidewall FWIW

I've heard great things about the MTR's too. I run 38 SSR's and I love them. Just took them through the con and they worked great. Some say they've had side wall probs with them. My last truck had 37 SSR's and they worked awesome too. Deep snow in the high lakes or summer up there, I was very happy all around. Great road manners too. I do try to be careful with the side walls though. I sold my 37's to a guy that commutes from Paradise to Chico every day, and he's very happy.

i have bfg muds on my truck. i drive about 95% street and 5% offroad. they dont wear fast and work great for me

I've got the BFG's on my 1 ton they & seem pretty hard, they're wearing well under that pig. MTR's on the 83.

I've got BFG's A/t's under my CC Stupid Duty. They are wearing really good.

I am running 35" X-Terrains and love the hell out of them.  The little bit of wheeling I have done with them I am overly impressed.  Road noise is nil, and still look new with 5000 miles on them.  Catch them when they are 3 get 1 free and they will cost ya $634 shipped for the 35".

I love the MTR's. I runn a 37 and I have just under 15K on them. I could probly get 30k out of them. They are great on the rocks and the street. I've been a BFG guy in the past but I won't go back unless they inprove. I've heard really good things about the Procomps X-Ter tires. Daron Runion runs 37" X-t's in U-Roc.

Tsl's  Thats the only tire I have actually bought in the last 6 years were swampers.  Im a glutton for punishment though.
Full hydro, 186:1 with an auto and 44's what could go wrong??

I Found a set of 37-12.50-15 MT/R's today for $880 out the door with a $50 rebate, mounted, balanced, new stems, & roadhazard warranty.  Should I....The place is holding them for me till noon tomorrow-they are backordered everywhere else.

Do it for sure, you will not regret it.  For good wear on the street but still a great tire on the rocks, the MT/R is the way to go.  My friend has 37" MT/R's on his heep and it's spooled front and rear and geared in the 7.?? range.  He has no complaints.  I never hear anything bad about these tires.

BFG!  Quiet, long tread life.  Decent sidewalls.  I have them on all my rigs and love them!

I'ne only been wheeling for a little over a year, but here is my $.02 worth. My truck is a 91 IFS :puke: v6. I started with cheapo 29" Wildcats, went to 31" Thornbirds and now swap between 33" Sidewinders as backup(General Tire) And TSLs. Thornbirds of course were horrible on the road. I got the TSLs as replacment off road and the Sidewinders for back up. I am very happy with the TSL on the street and off. They are amazingly quiet for the style and turning a corner isn't such a production. I think TSLs are well worth the $ and will prob. buy a new set when I go to 35". The Sidewinders have mosnter lugs, but do very well in the goo and cost much less than Thornbirds.

I bought the 37 12.50 15 MT/R's- much queter than the BFG's no shakes either! Got them from America's/Discount Tire. They actually have a bunch of them. I bought the Full replacement warranty too, so if anything ever happens from now all the way down to the wear bars they have to replace with a new tire. $30 a tire for it but well worth it I think. $240/tire out the door w/ warranty. :yupyup:

i think you got the best tires i now have the mtrs on my yota i had the pro comp xterras 315x75x16s on my tahoe and those sucked they shook the heck out of my pig and wore down pretty fast

I run 36 sx's and trailer but for what you are doing, from what I hear MTRs are the way to go. Only gripe I've heard is sidewall strength and I haven't heard too many first hand accounts.

I heard it is really tough to puncture the sidewall on the MT/R's.  Petersens did a test on them of pure hard kore rock crawling purposely trying as hard as they could to puncture the sidewall.  purposely putting them against really sharp rocks and it took them 6 months to finally puncture it.

I bought TSL radials for my runner cause I didn't want to deal with the flat spots when I drive it everyday. Now I dont' drive it everyday just to the trail pretty much, and wish I would have gotten something else but I am very satisfied.

33 12.5 15 cooper a/t. never been stuck but then again i havent taken my toy through phase 10 in moab. and i wont till i put a lift under it and the engine swap.
