I think the around the world toyota thread in general has info on them... if not I don't remmeber where I found info on them. They are toys with VW badging to help sell them in places where toys don't sell very well, if I remmeber correctly.

That's kinda what I was thinking too, just found it odd to see that particular venture.  Guess I could post the pic for the lazy folk...

I did a quick search on the VW Taro it seems they did make them under the VW banner and were produced in Germany. This search brought up something interesting it looks like they are going to do/are doing this again starting this year as possibly Taro II

Really?  I read that too and interpreted it as vw making their own trucks to compete on their own :dunno:
