what is the base h.p. for a 22r engin?
how much h.p. would someone have with headers, weber carb and a cam?

stock hp for the 22r is around 96hp. a lot depends on the condition of the motor. also depends on the cam you choose. but I'd say around 125hp for the stuff your thinking about. the first 25hp is easy the next 25 hp is a lot more $$.

I only need a little extra oomph :burnout: 25% more h.p. sounds great for under 1000$. and it shouldn't hurt relibility either.

headers carb and cam are the best thing you can do for a 22r without getting into major modifications

The newer 22rs have a slight boost of power 105 IIRC from 85 on
2008 Tacoma regular cab, 4.88s, ARBs, crawl box, manual shift FJ case

i had a stock 81 and 86 22r both with stock gearing and tires. the 86 did have a little more go than the 81. but  :rivers: i missed the 81 more when i sold it.
