Wow, $2600?!  He's sure proud of that puppy :yikes:
RIP KYOTA

You can go through life being scared of the possible, or you can have a little fun and tease the inevitable.

Give a man venison, he'll eat for a day. Teach a man to hunt Blacktail, he'll be frustrated for life!

2600? No kidding.  Get a 2.7 for that price.

Since its not the OP's ad I can say as an owner of a turbo truck its not worth the headache. The power isn't that great and the complexity can be frustrating.  When mine finally dies (again) I'm just getting a 2.7 and calling it good.

The guy is selling it for a reason, he wants to run a regular EFI motor because its simple and reliable.  I sometimes wish I had a 22RE instead.

Well since I'm his roomate I should probably comment here and say this motor comes with full documentation receipts everything, and is a well built motor with brand new turbo and everything to swap it, you could not build one for this price, and it has super super low miles its basically just broke in for ya, and ya I have another buddy who just bought a turbo 4runner for $400 but he still has to spend major bookoo on a rebuild, new head and a new turbo since no one takes good care usually to make the ct 20 turbo's last letting them cool down and so forth. Anyway the motor runs well and when it was in the truck it put you in your seat pretty good and pulled right up to 100mph granted its not v8 power or anything but it will blow the doors off a 2.7

How does it run???????? probably not that great for 500, this motor comes with everything not just the motor so 2600 aint bad at all, go ahead and price out just parts and peices to make a turbo run and it makes the deal worth it, heck a new turbo is almost 1000

Thanks for posting my add up jkief86. I haven't got around to putting it up on the board. And yes, I am proud of this motor. I built it. I have thousands of dollars into it. It has 3000 miles on it. It has a brand new $900 ct-20 turbo on it. Roded out turbo radiator. Some dealer only crap that cost alot.  Brand new 2 1/2" exhaust. All the turbo :pokinit: from my truck I just parted out. I am asking $2600 or best offer. If that sounds overpriced then you have never rebuilt a 22rte. it is complete. Oh and did I mention it has 3000 miles on it. Thank you, Cole

I have rebuilt a 22rte, the one in my truck, and I can confirm its expensive to do and will leave it at that.  Good luck on the sale.  I am curious how much people are willing to pay for it.

That's why I took out the 22RTE out of my truck and put in a 22RE.  I don't need power, just reliability!  :turtle:

How much more pickup does the turbo add? Is it more power on the highway or city?

Power is alright, like I said earlyier its not v8 power but its definatly an improvement, I have another buddy that picked up aturbo runner for $1000 and rebuilt it and installed a t3/t4 from a company that cast a housing to bolt up to a toyota manifold, it works really good and its a lot more upgradable than a ct20, he is still limited to the capabilities of the cpu for now but its got plenty of power and he hasn't even messed with the boost or anything yet he is still breaking the motor in.

The thing about turbo's is, the more air you force into a motor, the more fuel you have to add too!!  And the way gas prices are getting, I would rather drive a 22re than a 22rte.  :yesnod:

I agree, with gas reaching $4/gal there are going to be a lot of big trucks for sale. But I still believe turbos are a great way to increase power efficiently.
