so what made the diff in the hp of the early celicas?  my motor in my crawler  origionally came out of a 85 celica, but its bored 40 over with 9.7 to 1 comp. pistions.  i still have the stock pistons if they also have more compression than the truck ones. or was it the head?
ive got a couple of heads layin around, some are low compression ones, and some are the high compression ones.

i wonder if there really was any difference or if it was a marketing ploy?

use this as an example, the 350 chevy is a 5.7 liter.... the 351 ford is a 5.8 liter (.1 or 1 tenth more liters and 1 cubic inch bigger) but the dodge 360 was 9 cubic inches bigger than the ford and only 1 tenth bigger @ 5.9l

also what about the ford 300ci I6 4.9l, ford 302ci 5.0 and chevy 5.0 305.... if you were to actually do the math on 300 ci it also falls within the 5.0l

that was toysport  and it was the Lemans  race,   the  85 Gt celica  came in 3rd place   behind a  BMW  and a Mercedies,  both 6 cylinder engines,  no other 4 cylinder even came close to the celica

toysport is  rebuilding their website  but i have this copied here  on Marlin somewhere a years or two ago

Yea that was it, thats pretty impressive!
