I think the answer is in your avatar, plus this is a business as has been stated before. Some people do get offended by content and if you are that way and see it in a business you just may not buy from them. Unlike Pirate where the only thing they are selling is their board. Though it may affect their sponsers.

The main reason is that this board is not just that but it is also a business and some customers may be offended by profanity, nudity or other unacceptable acts. If you owned a business would you like it if someone came in cussing and swearing chasing even one customer out the door. That's pretty much the reason in a nutshell.

Them was the rules when you signed up...thems the rules now.

Besides the business part of it...there are chi'rens here.

x2.  couldn't have said it better myself.  this is the main reason why I like the marlin board.  when people get on and talk as if they have the vocabulary of a 16 y.o., it gets irritating. I avoid the pirate board this for exact reason.

For every post there is a link to report anything you feel needs a moderators attention, they will get the individual post in question to decide if it is inappropriate for the board.

Outside of what I take care of I reserve clicking for major stuff like porn or spam, other than that unless someone is attacking another person I let it ride. Everyone needs some every now and then.

actually that's bs too me because if some 1 has a good product that pretty much sells it self i don't care how they talk I'm buyin. .theres too much bs in the world to worry about some 1s "naughty" language. .just seems to me that theres tomany guys getting sand in there vaginas over nothing. .don't cry over spilt milk. .I'm thinking this thread belongs in the trash next to the "keep big tires off the trails" thread

There is a way to voice your opinion without talking or acting like a 16 year old.  I'm not understanding why this is even an issue when it written out so clear.  This is a family forum as mentioned before.  If you feel the need to cuse up a storm, using #$%* or whatever else you use to get around the sensor, you should probably be posting on pirate where no one cares.  keep up with it, and you'll dig yourself a pretty good size hole on this forum.

It's been said, but maybe not clear or simple enough for you to understand.  This is the board FOR MARLIN CRAWLER INC., the business.  It doesn't exist so you can post whatever you want.  It's main purpose is to showcase what they have, what can and has been done with their parts, and as a customer service tool. 

Your opinions are just those, your opinions.  You're making something out of nothing.  They don't get mad at the occassional or damn, though the f-bomb doesn't go over well.  If you can't get your opinion across without using constant profanity, you should perhaps enroll in some night school classes

If I ran a business, especially one based largely off a website that had a public message board, I would definitely want to keep the message board clean and respectable. I've got a mouth like a sailor but I try and keep it cool on these boards out of respect for Marlin and Company and the image I know they want for their employees and company. Its not so much about that we are all grown adults and can handle it, as it is about respect.

I took the liberty of highlighting number 4...you agreed to abide by those rules when you signed up. I'm pretty big on the whole free speech thing. But, when I'm a guest in a  home or business, I abide by the rules of that house or business. Really, this is much ado about nothing...you can not change the rules of this forum. You can set the rules on your own forum. Pick a better windmill to tilt at.

Included in these notes about cursing, an important point to remember is that there are censors in place to catch curse words that do "slip out" from time to time.  For this reason, it is preferred that the actual word be typed so the censor can pick it up for those who do not wish to see it.  Purposely misspelling a curse word is considered "skirting the censors" and is not permitted.

Sir, I might point out that this thread was started by a board ADMIN.  Not just a member, not even a mod....the Administrator.  This is a board rule that is not up for discussion.  I appreciate very much that you've not gone off on a profanity-riddled tirade about this, and your opinion has been heard.  But as has been stated time and time again, these are the rules of THIS particular forum.  Plain and simple.  We appreciate your participation, and all we ask is that everyone plays by these simple rules.
