Hey eveeryone! I am new to the board. I have a 91 Yj with D44's, 5.38's, rear spool, lock rite front and 36 tsl's.

I am looking to swap my drivers drop to a pass drop 44 and throw in some toy cases.

My buddy's & i like rocks, i need more crawl ratio so thats why i am here.

another option is a D20 (I think that is the one, 18 is offset)

why not check the use of a toy box or cold duck makes the adapters to use the low range from a toy.  and put the 4:1 low range in your 231.  a lot cheaper than a whole axle swap!

I can swap to a pass drop 44 for very little cash. Just drop my gears & locker in it, everything from the spindles out on the waggy flat tops.

I have more options with a pass drop axle:

toy case
dual toys
D300, stock or 4:1
203/d300 doubler
203/205 doubler

I hate to spend the $1k on a 4:1 for my 231. But it would be the least amount of down time.

I am going to swap in a NP435. I am just trying to figure out what my shortest tcase options are with adapters and all.

I have already checked into the D20 & cold duck options, those get high$$ fast.

I know the toy boxes are the most affordable, thats why i am here researching it.

I could easily swap in the 4.7 case behind the 435, but then i lose any gear that would give me some wheel speed for situations we run into here in the east.  Thats why i am considering a dual set up.

If i was loaded i would just go with a NV4500/2.72Klune/4.3 ATLAS, but i am not Mr. Moneybags.

did someone say beer.......
