???HYSTEER???
« on: Feb 14, 2008, 09:48:55 PM »
After I get my tax return I'm planning on doing a hysteer on my 84 pickup so I'm thinking of going with allpro or marlin crossover kit and marlins steering box and stabilizer but I'm having trouble coosing the frame bracket its between marlin ant trail gear

http://www.marlincrawler.com/htm/steering.htm

which is a better x-over kit, any problems with ether one. I'm thinking about allpro because of the crome-moly steering arms and the tierod & drag link are above the springs, marlin has the tierod in the stock location

Don't listen to him. He doesn't know what he's talking about. There is nothing wrong with Trail Gears hi steer. All Pro has the strongest arms I believe. They are one piece unlike the others.

Chris Geiger of trail-gear is a cheat and inconsiderate person, if at all possible do not support that business.

On the other hand I recommend Allpro the pioneered it and still make the strongest version. I have run it since 2003 and not broken a single piece of their kit and THEY ARE ON SALE RIGHT NOW!!!

he wasnt asking about the trail-gear histeer, he was asking about the mounting bracket. maybe your right dirtchicken, but if someone come on the marlin forum and asks about something that both marlin and trial-gear sell......well? should i have said that the trail-gear bracket is 20 bucks cheaper? is that the selling point? 20 bucks is 20 bucks but i personally know 2 people that have got burned by trail-gear.

No it's not, it is above the springs also. That is why it is called "High-Steer". If it is below the springs it is called "Cross-over Steering".
