Thinking about going with one haven't realy heard pro's cons.

I recently installed a TRD e-locker in my front axle. I have only used it on 1 run so far, but it is pretty cool when I flip the switch, watch the LED light up, and feel the truck pull up whatever I am heading for.

Nice 4runner BTW

What kind of time does it take to engage and i've read where marlin has said he wished they were stronger.

stock gears  tend to break easily,  thats what Marlin was referring to

pro's   its  like a spool when locked,  and  lockes  in about 2 seconds

cons?  mods have to be done to the housing to install  but  thats the ONLY  con  besides the ones in :jail:

I've heard of guys saying not to submerge them underwater for long periods of time cause it lockes em up or fries the electrical.

I've also heard that the electric motor can get bashed up pretty good if you don't have a guard on it.

well  as far as that goes,  ive heard  you dont want a stock differntial under water  for long periods of time  cause water  will separate the oil  and  destroy the bearings

and  you can  jam any housing on a rock and puncture it

They work good. I like them a lot. Sometimes they just lock right away(as soon as you hit the switch) and sometimes the tires have to do a revolution or so to lock it.

I was told u need to do the reverse routine to unlock these. is that true?
