ok so I am picking up my 1996 2rz this week for $450 with 70,000 miles on her... I will finally be tearing the p.o.s 20r out of my first gen and get to swapping in the 2rz and my r150f trans via the marlin bellhousing... I will also be starting the tear-down and possibly a rebuild of my r150f trans as well as installing my doubler set-up... I have a few other little projects I am going to be working on while the truck is torn down as well... should be fun... I dont know much about doing this swap besides just what I have read on the board about swapping 3rz's in if there is anything I need to look out for while doing this swap I would love ANY input ANYONE may have... I will get pics up after work and I will be posting them soon....

ok time for updates.... I picked up my 1996 2RZ engine w/factory wiring harness & the taco w59 bellhousing to use my w56 if I ever find one... (let me know if ya have one for sale or know someone who does)... I got the motor, harness, and bellhousing for $450 and the motor only has 71,000 on it... pretty good deal I have to say...I now need to find my rear sump oil pan and pickup... I assume the 2rz and 3rz oil pan's should be the same however im not sure I need to do some more research on that... I also need to round up a tacoma clutch and flywheel since my motor came out of an auto... I still also need to pick up my ecu and a few more wiring pieces for the swap as well....here are a few pics of the new powerplant!!

I got the engine unloaded from the back of my truck last night and finally got it in the shop to begin getting it ready to put in... I also started rebuilding my R150f V6 trans last night... I got the transfer case & bellhousing pulled off and then got the case split.... I noticed as I was splitting the case that the sealant was new looking...then once I got the cases split I noticed all the visible bearings so far appear to be nearly new so this is gonna save me some $$$.... I also got my spare t-case torn down to just the crawl box.. I have that torn down now as well so I can just go ahead and replace bearings and inspect everything while it is already out of the truck and torn apart....I will be hopefully swinging by Marlin on my way back from my road trip here in a few weeks to pick up a few goodies like my double t-case adapter and a few other t-case and trans parts to get this all put in my 1st gen.... so this project keeps getting bigger and bigger every day because I keep adding things to my list.... here is what I have on the plate so far....

-2rz swap
-R150f w/marlin bellhousing for 2rz
-double 4cyl t-cases w/ stock 2.28 gears
-5.29 Yukon R&P front & rear
-convert to power steering w/hydro assist
-complete custom built wiring harness
-exo cage
-39.5 x 13.5 x 15 IROKS
-Bilstein shocks

Once this list is all completed here within the next couple months this build will be pretty much done then I can get back to the 3rd gen finally and just wheel this truck while I build the 3rd gen.... well I will get some pics of the trans and t-case up after work....
