92 toyota 1 piece driveshaft or shims
« on: Jan 22, 2008, 11:15:19 AM »
Guys I have a 92 toyota with a 4 inch lift, the driveshaft is not working right. It worked for about 3000 miles but now starting to vibrate bad. I have a 2piece on there now is there a different carrier bearing I can get? Are there shims I can use to get my angle closer? Or is there a toyota truck close to my year that has a 1 piece driveshaft in it that will work in mine?

There are different lengths that might work. My buddy has a 84 ex-cab & when his center bearing went out he installed a driveline that was from a 1st gen long bed that he had laying around but don't know if that truck was a 4 speed or 5 speed. Just have one made to fit your truck at your local driveline shop.

What is an x2
Means he agrees with the post above or he seconds that motion.

I just got back from the local driveshaft shop I didnt know was there, and the owner has 7 84-94 toyota 4x4 pickups. He took all the measurements and said 1 or 2 days he will have me a nice 1 piece driveshaft built for 125 bucks. I dont think that is too bad! :driving: :burnout:

I had a 91 extra cab with Dual-cases and a 2 piece shaft with a carrier bearing. I smashed it and ripped the carrier bearing off. I liked my one piece much better.
