good call... I need to do that to my fenders... my 31's rub on it (10" rims).  But anyways, nice build

Yeagley

My neighbor had some wire for my welder, so I finnished up the firewall and have both sides of the radiator support welded back into the rest of the body. Everything is painted so I can start bolting things back to the firewall. Hopefully I can get a bunch of work done this weekend.I spread RTV all over the inside of the floor where I shaved the firewall

86bobbedtoy

nice, really clean job
I cant wait to see some mildly built pics.

Yeagley

Thanks guys. I cant wait to get it moving on its own power again. This is my second 4runner build, so there are lots of little things that I want this one to have that the other one didn't. Wait till I get to the rear...I have an idea for the body that Ive never seen before. You will have to wait for that though. I'm not touching the rear until I can turn it around.

It rained the past weekend. I put all the wiring in. All the interior is in. I have every single light and electrical piece working. It took days to fix all the bad wires and solder everything up. I now have the fenders on and the front is pretty much all together. I'm going to fit the white hood on and cut it perfect to fit the new front. I have to trim the grill. The engine compartment is going back together. I'm almost ready to start hanging springs in the front. I have to wait a bit. I need to get my neighbors 69 Caddy out of the driveway. My roomate and I are putting air suspension on it. I love wheeling, but I love scraping frame on the blacktop too!

OK, got some work done this weekend. I needed the stock rears off to build some front springs. I painted my good rear housing and put in my 5.29 thirdmember. I'm still changing the rear suspension. I just needed the springs out. Today I cut the holes for the shackle tubes and welded them in. I used a torch to cut the frame. Wish I had a plasma. I'm going to put the motor and tranny in tomorrow. Then I will build a front spring hanger.

Nice work so far on the front end.

What springs are you going with in the rear?

Just some 89 4x4 toyota rears. I have piles of extra leaves to build a better pack. I want to stretch this thing to about 115-117 inch wheelbase. Im moving the springs back as far as they will go without smacking the tailgate. Im moving the wheel well back to match where the tire sits. So I will have a bobed rear with working rear window and full, sealed hard top. Two thing you dont get when bobbing a 4runner.

ummm I think you need to tighten your ubolts :therethere:

Well I have the tranny and t-case in. Its a W56 from one of my other truck. Its temporary. I found a R151 and case for $750, I just need to get rich. I think I'm going to put 4.7's in the t-case for now. I have driveshafts for a single case setup. I'll just build a flat, bullet proof t-case crossmember. I can go duals later and have the 4.7's too. The only problem I have so far is from one of plugs from the engine harness doesn't plug into the body harness. I need to find out what they are for. I only have an 85 FSM, not an 86. Not sure if they are the same. I'm sure some of the wires are for the auto trans that came in the turbo truck. I'm not using the turbo gauges either, so I'm wondering if the gauges will work

THK Matt

i know there are auto trans wires u dont need. and im not sure if you need the turbo gauges.

Maybe....Why? Is someone else building a sick ass white and grey 4runner next to a big ass Caddy? Yeah, thats me. Are you one of the countless people that rev at me every day.

Yeagley

Well hopefully later the runner will be sitting on springs. I have been working on the Caddy for about 3 days. You would think a 20 foot long car would have tons of room for airbags. Nope. Lots of fab work. I think it would look sick on some big white walls with those hub caps. The owner has some 16" billet rims for it. So now I can work on my :pokinit:. Later

THK Matt

16' billet? naw... THICK white WALLS on those stock cadis.
