auto to locking hubs

how do i get the manual hubs to fit on my 86 4runner that has auto hubs stock.

Lemme guess you have a set of manuals but they wont seat down all the way down? The factory nut and retainer assembly will work on Warn hubs but not work on the factory Aisins. Youll need a set of stock 54mm nuts and retainers to put Aisins on inplace of the autos.

wt. im going to buy a set of aisin hubs tomarrow from a guy. but i heard that they wont directly fit, and i know warn makes a kit that cost 60 bucks. but is what u speak of what the warn kit is?

I havent actually bought a warn hub kit myself but Id think that the Warns use the same nut as your autos have. My 84 still has Warns and they have the auto style nut. Just find a set of standard nuts, doesnt matter if they are solid axle or ifs they will fit, and put those on instead of the locking ring setup you have now.

thanks wt, i appreciate the advice. but are u saying that i dont need to buy the conversion piece to make my aisin hubs fit? im only 17 so im learning something new each day.

Thats what Im saying yes. Just find a set of normal nuts and put them on instead of the single nut and lock ring.
Hey your already ahead of the game, when I was 17 I was driving a 79 mustang with way too much stereo!

yeah today i went and pulled the hubs off the truck and all the stock nuts, once i was pulling the hubs off i got what u were saying with the stock nuts compared to what my autos are. anyway thanks for the help and ill c ya sometime on the trail. o does that pic really look like u?

Yep Im an ugly b*std. I used to look a LOT like that but I shaved the sideburns and cut my hair at my chin plus Ive got a long goatee in the center of my chin. Now you understand why Im called White Trash?! Been my nickname for a LONG time.
