I read in the Toyota Owners mag that it is better than the after market lifts but if I remember right you will need a 1" or 2" body lift for the 33's. I was going to do this to my 89 but I would rather use that money for my 4Runner.

Are you talking about the front IFS balljoing spacers?  I have a set for my 92.  They will raise your front suspension and allow more downtravel, which is a good thing.  You can put longer shock on the front to take advantage of the additional travel.  I'm running Downey 2" lift springs on the back, but in retrospect should have swapped chevies under the back.

i dont think its a ball joint spacer but im not sure. and i heard that if the 33's are 10.50's then you should be able to clear them. the web sight i found them on is www.wabfab.org it looks like a good lift and its cheaper than anything else i've seen. one other thing. if i got this lift would i need larger torsion bars or will the stock ones be ok???

Yes, the front spacers they have in their "kits" are ball joint spacers.  Here is a link with more info...

It could.  If you go to that link it tells you about them.  Instead of buying that "kit" I would get the spacers and add shackles to the rear.  Add-a-leafs will make your spring packs pretty stiff.  Chevy rear springs would work out nicely.  And for the rear proportioning valve bracket you can just cut a piece of thin inch wide metal and drill some holes to raises it up the same amount you lift it.

Stiff rear springs make the ride bumpier.   :dunno:  Depends on how you are setting up the truck and what you will use the truck for.  Street driving, trails, pre-runner, ect...

The ball joint spacers with a bit longer shocks and a rear with more droop and longer shocks will absorb bumps / landings better because the shocks have more distance to absorb the shock of the landing / bumps.  My IFS truck is setup like that and is fun for high speed trails and small jumps.  I have a 2" body lift too and 33's fit with no problems.  If you run 33's, 4.88 gears will help.  33's with stock gears put the gear ratio a bit high.

The add-a-leaf should be ok if it's for the 4Runner in your avatar cause of the weight of the shell  :twocents:

It should come with instructions but I do remember when you remove the upper ball joint, you have to do some grinding to the control arms to get the spacer to fit.

Yes, you have to cut the inner side of the upper control arm to fit the top spacer.  And afterward you need to get an allignment, because it will be way off.

huh?! you need to lift the rear of any vehicle if you lifft hte front... if anything you need to lift the rear more than the front due to spring sag that has occured

ther eis not lift in the rear.... and no on being higher because of sag. the springs did not sag 20+ years ago when it came off the showroom floor
