what causes break dive?

when i hit the binders my nose will dive a few inches and when i stop it will bounce back and rest like nothin happened... i just thought about it and am not to sure why it does that

the only thing i can think of would be something having to do with shocks and or springs

jimbo74

shocks and springs, lol

gotta realize the truck is transferring weight

figured, but with new 5" marlin springs and the 5125 bilstein shocks doesnt make sense to me... will it eventually go away or will i just have to live with it for ever

jimbo74

get pressurized shocks....

don't hit the brakes so hard

get stiffer springs

weak....thanks for that info though

its a tradeoff.... you either get awesome offroad performance and diminshed street manners or the otehr way around..... changing one componenet will change something else

ill stick with better off road since there is more fun off road then there is on (for the most part in my world)

I notice a decrease in both "dive" and "squat" when I put traction bars on.

break dive is caused by momentum of the truck. Pretty much anything will have it to some degree.

Put weight in the rear, lighten the front or don't stop so hard.

Stiffer shock and springs will work, but you'll suffer off road due to the stiffness

or live with it. Physics isn't going away any time soon.
