Go to this sight: www.supracharged.com.  They should have all the information you need.  From what I remember a R-series bellhousing will not bold up and you will need a custom bellhousing which is a hybrid of the two.  Why not just go with a Japanese engine?  You can find 7mge's all over the internet with 30-50k, warranted for $450-$800.  Look at www.jdmtigerjapanese.com where you can find any type of import engine for relatively cheap with a one month warranty.

Thanks for those sites, ya i forgot i need a special bellhousing to be made for it to bolt up  :smack:, ya i think the 7MGE is cheaper and more worth it, or the turbo version, i think i like the 7 Ms better know than the 6 Ms

Ya that would be a neat swap, what engine are u thinkin the 7mgte or what? just have to have someone build the bellhousing unless anyone knows where to get a bellhousing, for it.

i want to do either the 7mgte or the 7mge. i think the bell housing from the 5mg(t)e will bolt them together. ive still got some research to do. if you find any thing good, post it here please.

you need the bellhousing from the supra manual tranny. They're also "w"series.. If you want o bolt a "R"series to it you would need a custom bellhousing which runs for about $350 plus tax....

I was under the impression that since the MKIII Supra Turbos use an R150 tranny, you'd be able to use that bellhousing and bolt the R151 to an M series engine.

One thing I've always wondered about was weight... these M series engines are in the 475 lb. range, and moreso with turbos... how's the truck wheel with all that weight up there?

Go to www.Monster-performance.com  .They offer the  bellhousing to bolt a "R" truck transmission to a 7mgte......they have a couple of other bellhousing swaps also........Like the 1ufze.Thats the Lexus v8....

I had a 6mge that I used to replace a blown 5m in an old cressida that I had.  With the Cressida (read: not supra) bellhousing, you could fit a W56, but no R.

It was a great engine... so smooth.  I love the Toyota in-line sixes.

I had a 5MG-E in an '82 Supra (W series trannies bolted to M series engines in the '82- '85 Supras, BTW...) and it was a very smooth, very torquey engine.  However, at 145 HP and 150 ft lbs, and weighing 475-ish lbs., I'd still take a 22RE with an Engine Builder head and Thorley header.

22RE weighs 380 lbs. or so, if I remember right.
