pics of battery cutoff switches

not sure if this is tech related or what... so here goes...

i am looking for install pics of battery cutoff switches... also where to get them, and what price.... i beleive i have seen some with big plastic removeable keys, some with removeable knobs, some with a small wire to supply low amp power to electronics....

need to install one in my toyota and in my explorer

I had the kind with the big red plastic key.  They kept burning out on me.  I eventually bypassed it.  I will see if I can find a pic.

Isn't that switch rated for like 75 amps or something?     If you use it for a main battery shut off then the starter circuit will kill it for sure being the starter draws about twice that...    Or did you use it only for all the stuff inside the truck?

i want to use it as a cutoff for everything.... on my toyota, i may install one from the alternator to the battery and from the battery to the car

and jsut one from the battery to the car for the explorer.

i also want them to have a lottle power wire though so the computer memory doesnt always reset...

as far as amperage wise, what should i be looking at? for the explorer and for the toyota?

Amperage wise, at least 200 amps. I think Pollack has one and even Cole-Hersee makes them. You can try any good auto supply. I would even call Vic Hubbard in Hayward since they do boat stuff as well. Even a good RV place should have them.

Yeah I don't know what it was rated at a buddy of mine that works at advanced Auto told me that was the one he used in his Bronco.  I had it set up to cut off everything.  It probably is rated low.

Perko   I have everything routed through a perko switch on my work boat and have never had any issues with it.

I wanted something that if I flipped the truck it would be easy to locate upside down to switch everything off.  Even if someone else had to do the switching.
