Alright since most of the people here are running leafs somebody has got to be able to answer this....
My brother in law is wanting to lift his cherokee about 3 in, and one of the kits he was looking at has a "short" leaf add a leaf.  He heard that they were no good because their length would put stress in the wronge places for the rest of the pack....   Is there any truth to this or is it bogus, someone blowin smoke.....
I have not run leafs but I remember each leaf getting shorter as you got closer to the axle anyways, so Im not sure I can imagine a problem.

As long as it is street only he'll be fine.
When you start to flex it out that short AAL may make your springs bend.

its fine as long as the add a leaf is the correct thickness and staggered at the proper integrals...

so measure the stock stagger and figure where the next step would be and then it should be ok?

Alright new question, what about getting another set of leaf packs from a junk yard and pulling a leaf or two out of there and adding it to the current leaf packs....  Is there any chance we could get three inches of lift without making it ride like the axles are welded to the frame?

I had add a leafs on the back of my 1/2 ton dodge 5" lift and 36" tires at the time.  Broke a superlift add a leaf in half.  I run a compleat lift leaf pack now.  Since I occasionally still wheel the dodge.

I tryed tha AAL solution some years ago and while they are ok for leveling a vehicle that carries a load on the highway I totally agree with the above posts about ruining a springpack when flexed alot.  I found out the hard way.  had to chain and strap a chunk of a tree between the rear axle and the frame and drive home real slow.  That was a long 20 miles......
