The truck now sports a single crawler, Marlins Hysteer (best mod yet), Detroits, 4:88s, high pinion and twin stick.  I just put some half doors on, not sure I like them yet.

OK I will come out to play.

It's alot more beat up now, but I got some fun under the hood.

Too bad the oil pump went out and now it's on the side of the road 1 mile from home. Bad knock. Good thing it waited till I got home.

Just getting started. This pic is the day I picked it up 6 weeks ago, blown head gasket and all. So far, fixed motor, ARB w/5.29 f&r, Marlin 4.7 crawler. I think some trail armor will be next so it stays more or less straight. The second pic is at Moab in June and was my inspriation for getting something a little less nerve wrecking to wheel in - still making payments on that baby - even though it was dynamite to trail with! TRD package works really good.

Hey blueneck,

Skiny tires will out perform fatty tires in places like Johnson Valley (eg. The Hammers). The weight is distributed over less tread placing more weight per area of each tread block. It's not necessarily better traction (remember that the width is less), but you can place the tires where you want them and avoid the tires from 'walking' into side wall catchers that lift the wider tires off from their tractional grips whereas skiny and narrow tires would remain following their original path.

Actually the issue of width can probably be argued both ways, but I have drive both and I feel narrow tires are better in conditions where there are many varying rock faces and angles.

Cya,
Mike
