I'm pretty sure Corvettes used that design beginning with the 1963 model year, and have used it since.

Confirmed.  Get it right the first time and you don't need to reinvent the wheel every couple of years.

Ah yes, back when popular music was two-minute songs about fast cars and steady girls.  And now it's three-minute "songs" (jazzercise videos, really) "sung" (lip-synced, really) by girl singers (dancers, really) who own cars worth more than the space shuttle, but can't drive them.
