Greetings all and Happy Holidays from a newbie...
I hate to weigh in with a question but I am fairly new to Toyota's and I have a recently purchased '86 with a recently rebuilt (20K miles) 22R.
My issue is the truck runs great, generally (all summer and fall ZERO problems).
This AM it is cold! (~10 degrees F here in Eastern MT)
The yote starts, cold idles (at @ lope) and runs around town great. But at highway speed (55+MPH) today I have a jerky hesitating sputter - so much so that I had to come out of 5th gear into 4th to run down the road. The truck also died twice (back to back) upon completion and deceleration of my 24 mile trip into town and going from ~60 mph to ~25 mph. I don't believe it to be a fuel issue. New filter(s) and I keep my tank topped off. I will add some additive today to be safe.
Ideas? Suggestions where to start? I am a powerstroke/cummins guy so Gas outfits and carbs are "new" to me. This is my first gas outfit in YEARS...
Thanks again - sorry that my first post on this outstanding site is a problem.
Happy Thanksgiving from MT
Jim
