On Thanksgiving Day, we'll be going to Brian's grandmother's at Noon to have a meal with her and his mother.  Then we'll be going to my Dad's at 5 p.m. for dinner with him and his wife, probably my sisters, and Lord knows how many other people who I may or may not know.    Probably end up stopping by my Mom's at some point over the weekend, but she's not doing an actual meal at her house because it's under construction right now.

I am thankful for alllll the blessings in my life, first and foremost my dreamy husband , my step-son, all of our family and friends who truly care about us, the roof over our heads and the prospect of the new house in the spring, the mother-in-law for giving us free room and board in the meantime, a good job, all workable limbs......and friends like you!!   :smooch:
RIP Kyle, we love and miss you man.  :smooch:
thanks for the smooch I miss you too !  :yesnod:

Wow, Thanksgiving! One of the only "big" holidays I care about.

This year about half the family is out so we're only having 16 people...including some friends from the great white north (Thunder Bay, Canada).

I'm making the turkey. I'll brine it tonight and then stuff it with herbs, spices, apples and onions for the roasting. Mom is making the dressing outside the bird.

I am thankful for my family, who despite knowing me...still love me. Health, prosperity and being blessed to be born in America.

I hope each of you have a great day and a great meal with your families and enjoy watching the Cowboys kick around the Jets!

I have a friend from Morgan City, LA he told me about it like 12 years ago, I thought he was foolin' but he swears by it. Sounds great, the richness of the duck would offset some of the dry-ass-white meat of the turkey.

Actually the recipe for turduckin is three fold not just two, first you must de-bone a turkey, a duck and a chicken. Then lay them flat one on top if each other next you throw in the stuffing, a cajun sausage mixed into meat balls. Now fold everything up into the turkey and stitch it back together. You now have about 15-20 pounds of bird that is going to take about 8-10 hours to cook. I've never had it but it sounds interesting. 250* is the cooking temp, and as always you want to have an internal temp of at least 155*.
