marlin are you out there????????? :dunno: :headscratch:

Brandon

rolling or ? I'm confused..

no not to the point that I think I am marlin ;)

If your rolling it could be the driveline u-joints from driveline angle..

brainlessfool

well, just for laughs try putting the transfer case in N and see if it makes noise then  :dunno:
A good day working, that's just sick :reg:

yotaboy79

well its worth a try lol  :dunno: any body know where the all knowing drive train god is??? :headscratch:

Marlin

Could this be a vibaration from the engine running and the four cylinders firing?
Lugging the motor in 1th or 2ed may send a noisey vibration thur the drivetrain.
I recall using the trucks winch cable, going under the front diff housing and then to the engine mount brace and the vibration went away.

i dont think thats it but it could be cuz when i bought the truck it didnt do it untell the tranny started going  then i replaced the tranny and it stoped and came back before it whent and now its doing it again. and it does it with the clutch in wile slowing down it starts at about 10mph when doing that? :dunno:

yotaboy79

did i stump marlin is that actualy posible???? are you out there????  i need to know if it will hold up to a day of mud dragging cuz theres a compatition comming up soon that i have plans to go to??? :headscratch: :dunno: :help: :help: :help: :help: please

81Toy4x

Hey guys, my truck is doing the exact same thing.  From the description yotaboy said, I'm having the same problem.  And if this tranny goes, Marlins L52-HD is going in my truck.  So anyone at all please help.

yotaboy79

from the looks of it as of june 12th ill tell you if its not the tranny cuz during the mud drags ill be pounding gears and thats realy hard on toy trannys :_oops:

81Toy4x

Today (May 30th) I changed the fluids in the tranny, tcase, and both differentials.  So Im hoping that changing the fluid in my tranny will solve the problems I'm having with it.  I've heard of many people having trouble with their Toyota trannys then they service them and they seem to be fine.  If so I would be one happy man  :beerchug:

Remember to check those motor mounts, bellhousing bolts, crossmember bolts, rear axle u-bolts......

How are your rear driveshaft angles? Do you have over a 3" spring lift? Are your flanges within 3 degrees of each other?

Have you checked the nut on the output shaft of the t-case? It should be torqued to 95 ft lbs.

i checked all that and i have no lift at all none my drive train is compleatly stock and nothins loose  and drive line angle is fine ill check the nut on the out put shaft tonight

yotaboy79

the out put shaft nut was loose i touqued it to 95 ft lbs and it made the vibration better but its still there, any suggestions? :dunno: :headscratch:

Bazzi

is it possible that the output shaft is bented after all the driving with the loose nut???
if so you could probably see that if you remove the output shafts from the t-case and put it in gear but be carefull

yotaboy79

clutch out or in dont matter its when your rolling like slowing down and stoping at a stop sine with the clutch in or just driving at low rpms in 1st or 2nd gear not lugging it

Bazzi

I am not shure but I would check the bearing (clutch bearing)  ??
just a tought

its brand new and put in right thats why i want marlin to help me :help:

Bazzi

Are you sure that all engine mounts or gearbox mounts are o.k. :headscratch:

If you hear this sound when you are stopp, pushing the clutch (then you are cutting all connection from the engine to the gearbox) If that is the case it should not be the gearbox, cause there is nothing making the gearbox spin.
If this happens when you are running slowly, pushing the clutch it should be something in your drive line.

I think that if you hear the sound when you are running down the street pushing the clutch, the only way ruling out the gearbox is to remove the driveshafts and let the truck idle, in gear.

After that I would remove the gearbox and start with checking the bearing and clutch. after that open the trans. check for loose bolts and bad bearings, maybe someone forgot to glue a bolt or something??

Fyrst check if the gearbox is in correct allignment with the engine. The more I think about it this sounds like some tension, is it hard to put the car in some gears.??

after that I am clue less   :conf:

#24
like i sead befor it doesnt matter if the clutch is in or out shifting is fine, i already knew that it was somewhere between the rearend and the output of tranny, drive lines fine pinion angle is fine new u-joints as i have sead befor in this thread i appritiate your help though and this is my daily driver so i dont have time to pull it apart and inspect it and all mounts are tight and in good condition

WHITE_TRASH

why not check the slip on the rear driveline.  That might be causing the vibes.  Dont just give it the shake test take the driveline out of the rig and pull the darned thing apart and clean and regrease it while your at it.
Full hydro, 186:1 with an auto and 44's what could go wrong??

yotaboy79

Bazzi

silly question but have you checked if there is something lying on top of the tranny (where the shifters come out)  that makes that sound or is there anything ellse that could be touching the shifters only when it is in 1 or 2 gear.    ???

don´t be hateing    :beerchug:
