I wish I would have been able to attend the event but I had to work, on the BLM's website there is a couple write ups in the local paper about the event, I guess us offroaders aren't so bad after all.

Off-road organizations coordinated with Discovery Trails and the Bureau of Land Management, to clean up Mule Canyon near historic Calico Ghost Town, north of Barstow. In this second year for the cleanup, hundreds of volunteers fanned out across the area collecting trash, during Presidents Day weekend 2008.

This year, the groups founded a website to help volunteers learn more about the event: http://www.calicocleanup.com/.
