RIP KYOTA

You can go through life being scared of the possible, or you can have a little fun and tease the inevitable.

Give a man venison, he'll eat for a day. Teach a man to hunt Blacktail, he'll be frustrated for life!

Fresh gas, 5 seconds cleaning up the super fouled spark plug and got the stihl running :woohoo:  For not being run in a long time it ran very well   Now I just need to snag my bar oil from storage and get a new chain!

Glad to hear you got it running!  Love those old Stihls, and it has dogs on it too.

Looks like the chain is sitting a bit high at the top rear of the bar...  is that from boogered up drivers, or is the bar messed up right there?  And what is that, about a 24" bar?  New chain oughta run about a buck an inch (of bar length, not chain length).  If they want more than that, we can get one from Russ -- just need the driver number and quantity, and I'm assuming you'd want a skip chain.  Lemme know if I can help....
My goal in life is to be as a good a person as my dog already thinks I am.

Last I heard, you can buy a lot of things from Russ (where's that rimshot when I need it?).  Next time you're in, tell him I said hello!

You can't get those kind of "things" from him anymore  :shhh:

I think they ran the chain too loose and it kicked off the sprocket.  I pulled the bar (which is flimsy as hell!) and got it back on track.  I should check my bits for the dremel, use the extension and clean the teeth up some.  Not totally sure on the lenth of bar, I'll have to measure it later.  It's overall length and not just what's sticking out, right?

I find it kinda funny that the stihl started so easily, yet neither of the macs wanna do anything

And that's why I swore many years ago that I would never own another yellow saw...   :tantrum:

The length should be stamped on the bar...  but you can get very close by measuring from the tip of the bar to the forward attaching stud (there should be two studs).

Told you I would be happy to take that off your hands.
