charcoal canister bottom hose
« on: Oct 03, 2007, 07:34:51 PM »
on my 85 EFI 4x4 pickup, there is a hose connecting to bottom of the charcoal canister but the other end of the hose is not connected to anything. I took a look at the end of this hose and noticed that its end has been plugged with a screw. Does this look right ? Under the EVAP system diagram, it shows that fresh air is being suck into the canister through this hose. Any clue ?  :dunno:

Have you done any work on the fuel tank lately? If yes you mixed the return line and vent line up.

Back to that bottom hose... yea, just put it in the hole in the frame after unplugging it. I was working on running light wires along the frame and saw a hose going into my frame, and I had no idea why it would go into the frame. Looked it up in my fsm, and yes, it goes right into the frame. Good luck!
