Topic: locking hubs

my 86 4runner came with the auto locking hubs, that no longer work. so i was wondering if i use the warn conversion kit, can i use any of the hubs that fit the ifs toyota. also im looking for a set of hubs

Toyota hubs are much stronger, I granaided two warn hubs before reinstalling the yota hubs. I've bust Birfields and axles since and the Yota hubs still working. Can you not rebuild the auto hubs? Maybe its the brakes burnt out inside or something simple?

well thing is the auto hubs cost to much to get repaired and i would be much happier with the manual hubs. i know that these hubs were very unreilable also.

If yer goin manual trust me pick up a set of Yotas "Aisian" at the wreckers Cheap, take em apart, clean em out, replace rubber seal around the dial to keep the water out and yer goood to go. How expensive are the braking disks to rebuild Auto locking hubs?
