im just curios cuz im working on one at school in the shop class and its a 21R, has any one herd about this engin cuz i havent tell i saw it, im thinkin its out of a car or somthin its kinda strange

They used that in europe mainly from what Ive heard.  What I do know is that some parts for it are not interchangable between it and 20 and 22r's its a real oddball.  Low compression design and it has a castiron head if memory serves.

most of them ive seen came from japan.  a lot of jdm places imported them as a replacement for the 22R, only thing is, japan doesn't use a lot of motors over 2.0l since it raises taxes or fees or something.  so all of their gas hiluxes had those in them.  the jdm places screwed a bunch of people on those

also, i believe europe was still running the 18R at least into the early 80s, i've seen pics of 79-83 trucks with them in it

If at all possible throw it in the dumpster before anyone at your school gets any wild ideas.  Parts for 21Rs are nearly impossible to get in the US and they absolutely will not pass SMOG.

im one of the only guys in my school that like toyotas and every one i know wants to throw it in the dumpster but the teacher wants to keep it as somthing to use to teach people how to tear down an engin and put it back together with all the idiots working on it i guarantee that if some one wanted it it wouldent run.
