Reciever hitch BBQ Grill for a Yotar of course
« on: Aug 16, 2007, 10:59:36 AM »
I'm tubing the back of my toy and ditching the bed.  So now I am going to have to build some sort of reciever mounted BBQ grill to take with me on trips.  I have a pretty good basic idea of what I want to make.  But thought I would get some fresh ideas or maybe even some pics  :crossed: before I just go to welding.

Anyone build a reciever hitch mounted bbq grill before?  Any ideas?  Any pics?

Holy shirt that is a huge awesome grill.  I was was thinking more along the lines of something that dosen't need it's own trailer and swings out from a 2" reciever hitch mount or something.

Sort of like these, but homemade-->

I would tend to believe that Mr. Forest Ranger would love to pull you over with a BBQ on the back of your rig. And if there was a fire in the area where you were wheeling, you would be suspect number one. The BBQ is a great idea for a tailgate party at the game, but maybe not such a good idea for the trail. :twocents:

I can just imagine someone driving down a trail with hot coals falling out of the back of their truck!  :o

I understand what you want to do. You'd have to get it far enough away (like the store bought one does), or high enough so that you don't char the paint or melt taillights.  :flamer:

Maybe a better idea: make a receiver mount table, that you could set a grill on, or busted parts when doing trail fixes. Tables always come in handy when camping.
