ok so i decided to go ahead and do my chevy swap.... i know about the 11" forward for the mount..... problem is i had all ready cut my mounts off a few days ago without even thinking... so from the end of where the old mount is 7.5"

this is what the rear looks like with no shackles....

this isn't bolted down or anything its still really rough here are how my springs are sitting as well

and also driveshaft extension

im not really looking for answers id like to think im somewhat on the right track....

now secondly the metal supplier here locally does not sell 3.5 x 3.5 anything... so i went through their junk pile and found some 4x4 1/4...

My question to this is can i run this and then use washers as spacers for the springs or is this a bad idea all together?

ok last just a few pics of the truck its an 85 4runner EFI stock with 33's welded rear diff marlin dual case skid rockers waiting to be installed

and here it is right now in the garage

Hope this helps with the front hanger location, as for the rear, I mounted mine 5" back with a 5" shackle.

Since having a smooth frame isn't high on my list, I measured mine. 8" from the front most part of the hanger. Also, if you still have the parts you cut off, just tack them in place & measure.

I used 3"x3"x 1/4", cut & welded the angle so that the hanger is 3 1/16" for the spring bushing, then welded them together. Also used 3"x 1/4" plate & made a skid for the hanger.
