So what would be a good WB for wheeling here in CA? I have a 82 short box. I just got another truck so i'm going to start my build up. ( as soon as  im done with this broken leg) But my plan is to put my D60 f/r  under the rig and link the rear. So that would be the time to make it shorter or longer. what do you all think? im building this rig mainly for rocks. so what wheel base do you all think would work the best. Thank you

111" is the perfect wheelbase, that is why I'm at 106". :gap:

i'm running 113" WB, sometimes I wish it was just a tad longer.. if I was going to do it again I'd probably go 117"

but.. it works well.

haha, yeah.... when i was in hs, i had 4 shop classes... yup with a broken arm in a 90* cast from my mid tricep/bicep to my wrist --- i made it work ;) luckily i did too... when i went to physical therapy after, they said i was very far advanced and really didnt need to ocme anymore... i guess msot people with breaks like mine let their muscles relax so much they are week when the cast comes off, 4 shop classes wouldnt let me not do anything for 2 months

i know, its not a leg, thsoe are a bit more critical than a arm... but you can  do it ;)

i think there's a guy on pirate thats in a wheelchair and built a rig. I had both my arms reconstructed and still manage to wrench on most of my own junk ;)

It definitly depends on how big of tires your gonna be running and how low it is.  the shorter the wheelbase the smaller the tires you can get away with and the lower you can be.  I'm at 110" right now and loving it with the 40" iroks.  I was at 104" with 37" mtrs but this is much better

Rocksnail

Good point. i didnt think about tire size. Well i plan on running 38 to a 42 im not really sure yet. and as far as lift im doing rears up front and if i link the rear it will be to match. so there isnt all that much lift.   And my leg is holding me back because i got a bunch of pins and plates in it. if my foot is down for more then 20min or so. it turns to the size of a soft ball and hurts like a mofo

I'm running at 117" right now and was running 40's but went down to 38's. My next rig I'm building it'll probably be the same with about wheel base and 42's or 44's works great. my bro's old runner was about 109 and a little short for some obsticles around here.
