Okay so I just  bouhgt a  88 jeep wrangler carburetored motor. So when I stop, it cuts off especially if I stop real fast. So is my carb getting to much gas or too little gas? I was thinking maybe it needs an electric fuel pump, but wasnt sure if that would fix the problem or not

ooooh.. you got the 4.2 YUMMM... great engine.. sorry to hear bout the problem, usually a very reliable engine. It's up there with my favorite engine behind the early L-head's and the buik v6 in the 65 cj5's..

i believe it is a vaccum leak. Is it every stop? or some stops, mostly aafter a downhill??
i don't think it is a problem with your carb. Cause i've heard of it happening to the 4.0fuel Injected. sometimes..

I dont think, an electric fuel pump will solve the problem.

check the brake booster vacum line. if its good, make sure its idling high enough to withstand the vacum surge when you hit the brakes.
