Quick Engine Mount Advice
« on: Jul 27, 2007, 06:49:44 PM »
What is the best method for changing out engine mounts without having an engine hoist?

Tools I have:

Highlift Jack
Small floor jack
Transmission Jack
Blocks of wood
Ratchet straps

Floor jack won't go high enough, have to use 4x4 to extend floor jack.
Where do I place the floor jack on the motor?

My motor mount popped out at Hollister. I used a stock Toyota bottle jack & went at an agle from the frame to the block & got it up high enough to get the motor mount out. I might have went from the spring to the block at an angle. I don't remeber but I used the stock bottle jack  :twocents: good luck

Couldn't get access to that so I put it at the back of the oil pan/front of the bell with the transmission jack and it worked perfect.

Thanks for the fast answers guys.

You end up using aftermarket poly mounts?  Update on how the ride change is.
