So recently as most of you know Fordyce has been closed because of fire hazard. Supposively for the rest of the season, wouldn't suprise me if it get's closed for even longer.
Cause: "The Angora Tahoe Fire has all but been officially been declaired that is was started by an 'illegal' campfire. Since this is not a 4 wheeling environment, it is being guessed that it was hiker, back packers, or party goers."

Yet who is suffering?   We are....

Next,
The Eldorado National Forest just released the DEIS today, Closed down thounds of miles of trails near and around Rubicon. Matter of time until Rubicon goes?
If you look at this thread there's a visual of how many trails this has effected in the area http://www.pirate4x4.com/forum/showthread.php?t=596930

My question to YOU as a wheeler is, are you worried?   we're talking about the two most popular trails in all of Northern California here on the brink of being closed down!
IF, you are worried then what are YOU doing to ensure that we keep these trails open?  are you making an effort to show up at the Eldorado National Forest meetings?

This is the reality of our sport here guys and gals, we have to do something. We have to get off our lazy asses if we want to keep wheeling these great trails. Meeting up with great friends and having fun together. It is up to YOU to ensure these trails stay open, please PLEASE do your part to ensure our children's children can have access to the trails we've all grown up to wheel and love.

Copied from Lances sticky on PBB, if you are anywere near any of these locations please take a bit of time to just show up, we have a bigger say in numbers!   actions speak louder than words.

Kinda worries me that 35 people have looked at this thread yet only 3 have replied...

I am working on time off from work so that I can attend the Folsom meeting, it is closest to me. I will gather as much info from it as I can and report back.

Both so true, but unforunately I'm unable to take the time off since I'll be using the last of my vacation hours to leave for Alaska to visit with my son, who is in the Coast Gaurd  :usa:, for two weeks the very next day. I do appreciate your concern for all who stand to benefit by attending these meetings . Again, my apologies for my inability to attend. I do,however, understand the importance of these meetings and while an issue like this can be far larger than my own finances it doesn't outweigh the value of family, again sorry. Wish I could, like I said. I hope all will be well by these meetings. I hope you understand my situation. Thanks again.  :beerchug:

yes, but if you don't speak up, you won't get to wheel at all

I'm planning on going to at least one, and probably two meetings.  I'm going to try to make both the Folsom one, and the Concord one, but I'll definitely be at one of them.  :yesnod:

Correct me if I'm wrong, but this is how I see it:

We as tax payers, pay these people to sit on their :moon:  and not answer our questions regarding our trails we also pay to keep open and maintain, so we're paying them to work against us and not answer our many questions regarding this issue that has many many peoples lives in an uproar .... is this true? Aren't they working for the county/state? :headscratch:

I don't know how to word it so that it makes a lot of sense, it sounds better when I'm saying it out loud rather than typing it... but it seems to me that we're paying them to work against us... :willynilly: :shake:  :shake: :shakehead:
