im sick and tired of driving this truck right now too unreliable(the fuel pump whent out today around noon and i was suppost to have a job enterview at 3) that was the last straw, its parked in the shop im getting  a nother daily driver and the start cutting the livin $hit out of it. it will take a wile. first chev 350 posibly stroked to 383, then turbo 350 trans, then np205 t-case, dana 44 and dana 60, and lift. cant wait to start  :flamer: :_order: :_oops:
heres what it looks like now, more pics soon to come

WHITE_TRASH

Sounds like fun!  Id probobly wait on the major mods and work into it slowly.  Id start with the suspension then hack the unholy $hit out of the body!  Just dont get in over your head its real easy to do that with a big buildup like that, just take your time and do one mod at a time.

oh and it turns out its not the fuel pump its the carb, so i just wasted all that time for nothing, but i got a free carb for it. i love being friends with mechanics that spetialize in toyotas and having a brother that works at napa, lol

yotaboy79

i dont know about where u live but the countys that do run smog tests, call the test a d.e.q. test

yotaboy79

its takin a little wile to get a daily driver, i will start soon

kyle_22r

wish i had a truck as nice as yours.  my '79 has cancer on the bed and front wheel wells, and the bottom of the doors.  time for a sawzall and bondo! :.order:

yotaboy79

yeah its pritty clean there was a small amount of rust on the floor boards which i fixed with fiberglass and sealed it with bed liner and guess what i only payed 1100 for it lucky me, and i got my toyota rear springs today that im gunna be puting in the front, they seem soft i was wondering if i could get any sugjestions on what springs i could conbine it with to get it a little stiffer? id like some input on this

WHITE_TRASH

stiffer? what year etc. did you get the pack from?  2 wheel 4 wheel?
Full hydro, 186:1 with an auto and 44's what could go wrong??

yotaboy79

2 wheel i think it was an 87? not shure ill check the year when i go to u-pull it to get my chevies

WHITE_TRASH

Not a bad choice.  The 2 wheel springs will give you about 2 inches of lift by themselves.  I was very happy with my springs in the 81, they were 81 2 wheel with the overloads taken out, and 1 leaf added per side.  Nice & soft!

i was thinkin about putin an extra leaf from my fronts right now to stiffin them up a little cuz i plan on running the 350 shortly im building it right now dabating on stroking to 383

WHITE_TRASH

trust me a healthy 350 is more than enough!  I keep having to convince myself not to bigblock mine or nitrous the damned thing!  Just stick with a good combo and itll do wonders!  The pack in my 84 is pretty think really, youll end up putting more than 1 leaf in it Im sure.  Youd have to go and read my post again I know I mentioned what leafs went where just cant remember off the top of my head right now

is that something you'd put in the stock front pack, or something that you'd add into that 2wd rear pack he's putting in the front?

yotaboy79

hes talking about adding it to the rear pack that im gunna put into the front

yotaboy79

ask and ye shall recieve!

that's the two worst spots.  the spot on the quarter panel below the door is from the PO's neighbor backing into the truck, so it's just surface rust.  the other spot on the bed is rusted through.  i have a bed liner so im sure there's a lot more.  i'll eventually find a 2wd bed in good shape or build a flatbed or something

theres some rust spots on the doors and front fenders as well, nothing too major though

also note my new 31" ltbs, i bit the bullet and just got new tires cuz i was getting sick of the 27" street terrains that i had on it

yotaboy79

yeah my pic was of my good side ill go and snap a pic of the bad side for u and where i had to patch the rust in the cab, oh screw the 2wd bed go flat bed thats what ill prolly do here soon

yotaboy79

heres what happens when you tip it on its side twise

yotaboy79

heres my fiber glass flores, in the bottom one there was a hole from the gass pedal to the bottom of pic

yotaboy79
