What do you guys think about NWOR's products i.e. cams, headers etc.  I was browsing through there catalog looking at the cams and headers but the prices where a little higher then I've seen on this forum for those parts.  Are they some special breed that is worth the money or can I get a good product from someone else at a better price?  Do they sell anything that is definetly worth the money?  The only thing that I have bought from them is metal timing chain guides and I was very happy with those.  All thoughts are welcomed.

Thanks

I myself have not bought anything from them.  From what Ive seen and heard they have a pretty strict return policy, as in none whatsoever!  I have heard very good things about their products performance, such as their header is supposed to be topnotch and their cams are pretty good too.  I guess it all boils down to you, do you want to take a chance on getting ripped if they ship the wrong parts or have the hassle that goes along with it?

ditto, I run there header. and love it. but have had a "little" porblem with other stuff i've got from them. I think the main thing is if you raely know what you need, you may do fine with them. butt there very $$$. and if there stuff goes bad on you and its no falt of yours, well it seams to be that its on you anyway. short ans. if they have something you just "have to" have, buy it. other wise get your stuff anywhere elas. :.order:

I have the NWOR header, it is a good product. As others have said they have an unstated no return policy. I do not buy anything from them nowdays because of the poor customer service.

I would not buy any engine parts from them. When other places are selling what I feel are better products with far better service such as engnbldr.com, doa engines, and lc enginerring,...When your customer service sucks I will shop else where..With all the brands and places that sell parts for toyota who has time for bad customer service and a jerk on the chain.. :hammer:
Forgiveness is between them and god..
Its my job to arrange the meeting!

I bought a whole bunch of stuff from them a few years ago and they screwed me over bad.  First of all their customer service sucks, I bought some of their urethane motor mounts on a stock truck with no crawlers or anything and they ripped in 6 months, they wouldn't stand behind the products they sell.  The guy was a total ass.  The shipping got lost cause they shipped it different than they said they would.  just total bs turned me sour to them.  LC engineering is who I would reccomend I bought stuff from them they were friendly and helpful and the products were quality especially the headers.

A couple of years ago, i build a 22R for a 89 efi truck and installed my customers NWOR Schneider camshaft. When i fired up my new motor it immediately ran hot. Looking for the cause, i installed a new heavy duty raidator, removed the new aftermarket water pump and installed a Toyota pump--no change. Next, installed a new factory fan clutch $$$$ --no change. Removed the cylinder head and had it pressure checked but found nothing wrong. The head gasket showed no signs of leaking.

Finally after waisting one week of shop time, i removed the piece of s**t cam, and the motor immediatly ran cool and had great power.

Next i called NWOR and asked if they had any problems when their cams. I was told they offered the best cam available and never any problems. They then asked me if i followed the proper break in procedure--how could that affect the overheating problem?

Not getting satisfaction, i them called Schneider cams and asked about the NWOR cam. I was told they made a special grind to NWOR specifications and when i read the spects to them, they agreeded that it would run hot because the cam was keeping the exhaust in the cylinders too long.

Armed with my new knowledge, i onced again called NWOR and was told that i needed to write a letter to their tech department describing my problems and they would reveiw my request. They refused to take back my "used" cam.

I was very disappointed and have never brought from them since :moon:

I do buy from Downey off road and L.C.

Thanks a lot to Marlin and the rest of you that replied.  I was all set on buying the cam and possibly header from them.  After reading all the replies that were posted there is no way in hell that I would purchase anything from them.  It wouldn't matter if it was the unconditionally best product out there.  For one, I don't like the fact that numerous people have been screwed over buy these guys and I hate companies with bad customer relations.  That is the backbone of your business.  If the customer doesn't want to deal with you on a personal level then eventually it's going to hit you in the pocket book.  I guess that is why Marlin's company has become the success that it is today.  People like Marlin are unheard of these days.  Thanks again.    :beerchug:

What i wrote was my third draft.
I do not believe that my forum it is place to talk smack on another vendor, but when i read this thread, i just could not resist the opportunely to put in writing the way i was treated.
I apologize for singleing out NWOR. I would hope that this is a lesson for all vendors. [Marlin Crawler included]

Sometimes talking smack is the only way to describe how poorly you were treated.  If you were the only one that had that opinion then somebody might take it the right way but there is not one reply in this thread that had something to say that was 100% positive.  If a company can not please their customer then unhappy people are going to spread the word and it sounds like you were just one of many unhappy customers.  Either way thank you for the comments because you probably saved me a pain in the  :moon:.  And I don't mean brainlessfool.
