I need to meet up with someone in my area that would be nice enough to let me look at there wiring harness or I need someone to take a picture of a voltage regulator wiring on both sides of the "round" plug.  My 81 truck caught on fire this weedend and melted a $hi!! load of wires around the voltage reg.   I got a new regulator and alernator.  The plug on the regulator melted and I had to direct wire it.  I think that I may have mis-wired it.  The truck dies when I unhook the battery and the volts on my volt gauge bounces from 12 to 10 volts.  Or if there is someone in the Portland, OR area that I can check out there truck 81 to 82, that would help alot.   You can write me or Call me at (503) 789-3447

Thanks

Are you just looking for a picture of the wires at the back of the alternator?

I've still got my factory motor from my 1981 I could take some pics of for you.

I need to see what wires go where from alternator and voltage regulator.  I had to hard wire the voltage regulator because the plug was completely melted.  I rewired everything and the truck is still not charging.  The alternator and voltage regualtor are both new.  Something in my wiring is still not correct.  I got a full harness from a 83 with a oblong plug (Mine is round) Can I still use this harness or part of it?
