Try to convince someone to snap a pic of their engine for you to see where the vac lines go or hit up the pick and pull to check some out. If they're all stripped out take a look at the underside of the hoods, there's supposed to be a vacuum hose routing diagram on a sticker. With any luck you might find one that's still legible. Or you could drop the 10 bucks on a Haynes manual.

If you don't live in a place where you have to pass smog inspection, all you need is the vacuum line to the distributor advance and retard valve, and the brake booster if you have power brakes...it attaches to the passenger side of the intake, by the carb.

almost every year has a different vacuum lay out, then ya got fed, cal and Canada. to make it worst even the sticker under the hood isn't always right. my 79 had vsv hook ups and gear like a 1980 and a sticker that wouldn't work with any year. got it to work and smog by following plans from both years. if ya got vacuum leaks start replacing hose's one at a time, and if it's like mine it's got 2 sizes. also remove and check all your fittings. i had a loose fitting that seemed tight that drove me nuts.
