My Runner creeps forward with the tranny in neutral and transfer in low4 with the crawler engaged. It's a dual ulti crwlr. What is causing this and what can I do to prevent it?
Thanks John.

Gear oil.  Plain and simple, with the crawler engaged the gear oil has enough viscosity to make the gears turn without the trans in gear.

Full hydro, 186:1 with an auto and 44's what could go wrong??

So this is common? Will synthetic oil help?

Mine does it, I would think that synthetic would all but stop the creepy feeling.

Mine does it too.  Esp when it's colder.  Even keeps crawling for a bit when I push the clutch in.  I remember after doing a tranny swap in my Jeep and no tunnel I remember the front driveline spinning as fast as the rear before it warmed up.

Marlin

This is a common question :headscratch:
I remember back in 98', I had a customer who would start his truck every morning and leave it in netural while it warmed up.
After installing his Marlin dual case, when he went outside to get in his truck, it had moved forward and rolled down his driveway, across the street and thur his neighbor fence ending up in their pasture. :driving:
He wanted me to pay for the required repairs
I faxed him a copy of the factory book that states to always have the parking brake set................

Using synethetic oil should make a major change and remember to set the brakes.
