does it need a special computer to make it run and shift right and junk?
Sand, what fun, drop pressure to 12psi, stock tires are still digging, can't afford to get stuck, 8psi, still not working. Find a place to GET OUT, air up, un-lock hubs,  WAIT whats this, hubs are UN-LOCKED already. 2wd, 8psi, stock tires, Oregon sand dunes.

yes its called an ECT. For now I am keeping mine wired in. I would not recommend swapping it into a truck that wasnt an auto with out a complete donor truck, their is alot that gets tied into them, esp. compared to the 5spd.

no...its probably not gonna happen, if it does, it will probably involve me buying a 94 2wd auto in excellent condition, doing a sas, and using the inchworm adapter kit......then bolting on a 4wd front clip

What year is this auto tranny from?
Is this from a V6 setup?
If so, would you be willing to sell just the mechanical speedometer gear unit, from the V6 Chain Drive transfer case?
