I searched the forum, and found (in various spots) that adding a crawler adds 6.5" to your transmission/transfer case....

I also found in a tech article that the adaptor plate is 2.375" long.

I just measured the front section of my transfer case (gear drive, top shift) as 3.21".

Isn't the crawler the front section of the transfer plus the adaptor plate?

If it is, that adds up to 5.585"

Where did the missing .915" go?

Maybe I can help confuse you more...
From the back of my MC08-R10 to the front of the crawl box is 6.5"

Well I misread the caliper (I took a quick look before)........

Luckily, I had locked the caliper and noticed that it's 4.21" when I was putting it away.

So thats 4.21" + 2.375" = 6.585"

So now I'm .085" long............

Is the adaptor actually shorter than 2.375" ?

he prolly wants his d line made before he does duals.

And I want to make a triple shifter on top of the crawler box, so I need the precise distance between the 2 top shift locations so it will just bolt up.    (I just rebuilt my transmission, and measured the specs for the transfer shifter, the only unknown is the distance between them)

Thanks........

(rotated case or not.....non-rotated triple shift is easier.... hmmmmm...)

Ok, it is exactly 5.0" from the center of my rear transfer case shifter to the rear screw on the transmission/transfercase cover that has the boots on it.

Is the cover attached to the transmission or the hump?
