22rte:
bored slightly , pressure honed,  coated bearings, new pistons (stock not forged)  1 mm bigger SS valves,  gasket matched intake, some polishing and porting, late model intake. going to run a ct26 turbo off a supra,  bigger afm and 440 cc injectors, larger fuel pump, and intercooler (either front mount garret or a SIDEMOUNT OFF A NEWER AUDI. will be used with a centerforce dual friction clutch

rob currently possesses:

LC Engineering:
water pump pulley 6" [way larger than stock]

crank pulley 4" [smaller than stock]

NWOR high output alternator and it has a 2 belt pulley on it as opposed to the stock 1 belt --- that the pulley is smaller than stock --- the alternator says "The diameter of the custom pulley increases low rpm output."

should he use the underdrive pulleys? why or why not?

alt mite be ok, for 4X4ing. Not if your street racing.

small crank, no.

W/P? not for 4X4ing but mite be just the thing for street racing.

i think the alt one is jsut what comes with the HO alternator....

why no on the small crank pulley?

why yes on the water pump pulley?

ok maybe i should ask another question... what will those pulleys do? i mean i get ok underdrives are better for racing, but at the cost of what? and why are they better? more hp less torque like a muffler or how does it all translate into why it works or doesnt work?

OK the perpose of the underdrive is 2 free up the power the accessories use      charging alt uses HP  PS uses HP and so on.

when U are drag racing U don't need 2 used them so  the extra HP from the underdrive pulley will drop your ETs.

THE resone underdrive pulleys are not good for $x$/ street is U need the use of you accessories/    power steering  ( big rock  alt off-road lights )

he doesnt have any smaller pulley for the power steering, just hte stock one

i know he will have air conditioning and that will use the stock pulley as well.....

when your turnning 6K RPM's you don't need the W/P spinning as fast as it will with stock pulleys.

so....... big waste of hp.

smaller crank pulley slows every thing down. so..... more power to the wheels.

bigger pulleys on the accs. slowes them down. so.... more power to the wheels.

smaller pulleys on the accs. speeds them up. so.... more of what ever. i.e. more  charging, more water flow, more p/s help. butt less power to the wheels.

so what ya what? every thing is a trade off. ya want a soft ride ya corner like :pokinit:  ya want to go fast your mpg are :pokinit:  ya want to crawl over rocks  your 1/4 et's are :pokinit: it all about trade offs. and if you want to make the best truck for you , you need to learn the factors involed in the trading.  :twocents:

will be his daily driver weekend warrior..

he has aquirred all the stuff i pictured above, we are jsut trying to figure if it would be worth it to use it or sell it off.....
