Carb/Fuel Injected Gas Tanks

Are these interchangeable on 86 model trucks?

There are some differences. I dunno if you could make it work though.

Are you just replacing your stock one or engine swap, what do you have?

I put an 86 EFI tank in my 83, YOU CAN DO IT MAN!


ok,ok,  what are ya doing? I THINK the diff on a 86 carb/efi tank is all in the pick up unit. not the tank it's self. butt hey I mite be wrong again!

the EFI has a fuel pump inside the tank.  the carb hasthe fuel pump on the head.  the  bolt locations on the pick-up are different so those aren't interchangeable.

You can put an EFI tank on a carbed truck, you will have to remove the fuel pump from the pickup bracket and extend the pickup tube. You can use a carbed tank on an EFI but will have to run an external fuel pump.
