toyota speedo cable
« on: May 13, 2007, 02:41:33 PM »
I have a 93 Toyota 4x4 sr5 with electronic speed cable I am replacing
my dash with other gauges my main concern is that my new speedometer
says that it needs a gear driven cable and I was told by Toyota that
my transfercase is a gear driven cable for the speedometer however it
has wires that are coming off the plug  I guess my question is what
is a good year to source a gear driven speedometer cable that I can
hook up to the back of my new speedometer.  :attention: :attention:
IF YOUR LOOKING OUT THE FRONT OF YOUR 4X4 AND YOU CANT SEE THEN JUST TURN ON YOUR WIPERS. BUT THEN THINGS GET ALL MESSED UP LIKE IN LIFE.

WHEN YOU GET TO THE END OF YOUR ROPE JUST THINK THAT ALONG TIME AGO  YOU WERE THE FASTEST LITTLE SWIMMER TO THE EGG

You have the expensive gear driven electronic speedo. If you get a strictly gear driven speedo from the 2nd gen trucks and swap the gear over you should be just fine....

1979-92 Hilux models use a mechanical speedometer cable, and 84-92 are a bit longer *I think*.

So if you get any speedometer cable from an 84-92 then you should be set.
