Ok. So.. the motor ran pretty darn good all weekend. However... the driveability went back to square 1. I popped a birfield first thing this morning. I ran thru obstacle course, squeeze rock and the frame twister (which was like speed bumps at the logs) then ran squeeze rock the opposite direction and obstacle course the oppostie direction. When i got there sat nite. Sunday morning.... ran squeeze rock but then my buddy convinced me to flex my truck the opposite way that u would be if u were to just drive out. I got completely sideways from where i wanted to be, got stuck and then popped the short side birf.

I got the culprit out today.... WOW! I shattered over half of the outer housing on the birfield and it was scored REALLY BAD! I think that i will be ordering new bearings and seals and puttin it back to together with a new birfield. My buddy gave me a mostly complete axle with both birfs in it. Next weekend i will be puttin the birfs in and gettin it back on the trail....

So, i got the sliders on and started to measure out my cage. Im gonna leave the long bed long and possibly build the cage truggy style. I have torn out some of the wiring but have tons to go. The truck starts pretty good now... i got a 5spd computer from a buddy and swapped it in place of the automatic that the harness came with. Seems to run better but not quite right. I will try to get a few more pics up today.

Hello!! im back.. ive been working and haning out with my 2yr old, so the truck has sat for a little bit. Im working on designs for a partial flat bed and an exo. Im am pulling all the wiring harness out and goin to undertake making my own stand alone system. I just built the switch panel for the dash and got a book direct from TOYOTA for the 83 Celica factory harness so i can start snipping and splicing and stuff. Look for pics and an update soon.

i have spoken with FordH8r and he was tellin me that it looks like my fuel pulse dampner is the leaky point under my intake...not a fuel regulator...although they look VERY much alike, the one i need does not have the tube coming out of the top. the piece im lookin for is not inline...its the end of the line. the motor is of course still the 83 celica gt motor...so, does anyone know where i might find out of these things without paying an arm and a leg?

I just had a thought.... but im gonna nee a different wiring diagram. Im mounting my comp well out of harms way for water damage, along with the main switch panel. kinda goin race style with half a dozen or so switches...should look pretty sick. but first i gotta get a place to wrench... Garage is getting sheetrocked and new lighting. new outlets and a 220 for a welder someday. Ill post more on this later...

I have decided that another swap is in order. Im on my way to clear lake area to look at a rolled 85 truck with the 22-RE, computer, harness, etc. So, ..i think thats the next step to gettin a reliable rig. Ive decided that i would rather swap out everything together than keep splicing and snippin. lol.

Best bet is to check the fuel pressure. That will confirm any fuel pressure problems and should point you in the right direction.

I put a pair of vise grips on the inlet side just b4 the regulator n pinched it down bout 1/2way...seemed to b working better now...
