i have a project
« on: Mar 31, 2004, 12:59:17 PM »
Finally, I decided to build a real 4x4. I'm working on my 83 shortbed Toy. Plans include: 4 inch lift using Chevy's and the rears up front. Hy-steer that is on its way. A 2 inch BL with a 2 inch drivetrain tuck for better clearence. Dual cases. And if money allows me, Factory Toy E-locker 3rd's. From what I've seen, seems like there are a lot more 83's than anything out there. Is there a reason for this? Or am I just being partial?
Build them. Don't buy them

Sorry, I already welded the perches for the Chevies. I am gonna use some Waggy leaves in the front. Along with the top 3 leaves from the stock rears. Lookin to clear 35's with about 5 inches of lift.  I've been around the block and back when I built Heeps. But after I saw what a stock Toy will do with a welded rear, I'll never buy anything not Toyota related.
