Fifth Stud High Steer Trunion Bolt Setup

 Just wondering if anybody is or has run the above setup from Longfield. Looking for some input as to how it is or has worked for you, does it help any from loose or striped steering arm studs, nuts. Does it really add extra strength.

It looks easy to build your own, but $40, how can you go wrong.
It will add safety by making the arms less likely to fail before damage is realized, it may keep them in place so they can't rotate...

Yes, I was thinking along those same lines. I mean, what is it but a piece of 3/8" thick angle with a hole drilled through it and a 1/2" grade 8 bolt and nut. I was hoping someone here has been using it so we could get some input.

I haven't noticed any of the fasteners getting loose and so far I have broken (2) FJ-80 tie rod ends (sheared the tapered stud off the base of the ball) with no damage to anything else. I'm actually quite impresed at how will this setup is working....

Rick, is your setup pretty much the same, just drilled through the knuckle and a nut welded on the inside or is there more to it? Is that a chunk of 1/2 " welded to the arm?

read the link.... it based on re-using the "fill" plug location on the stock knuckle.
