Are you talking about the Revolver Shackles?  If so, people have used them on toyota's, but I suspect you will get advise on how to build something similar for way less money.

Your front shackle should be on the back end of the spring, not the front.  :psss:
1989 4Runner: Dual Ultimate (Inchworm front & Marlin 4.70 rear), Marlin Twin Stick, 1200-lb clutch, 4.88 R&P, Aussie Front, Detroit rear, 30-spline Longs, Long hub gears, ARP hub and knuckle studs & 35x12.50 Cooper STT PRO tires.  Marlin rear bumper & sliders.  FROR front bumper.  SAS with Alcan springs & Rancho 9000XL shocks.  Budbuilt Bolt-on traction bar.  Custom Interior Cage by Those Guys Rod and Customs.

I've heard some not so great stories about the revolvers. I've heard they give some nasty axle wrap. Also I've heard of people bending them pretty easily if I remember right...

In Las Cruces New Mexico I ran into a guy with a '90 extra cab and he had revolver shackles on it. He put them on for the Chille challenge that year. he had taken them off before the week was over. He said the axles were all over the place. Hope it helps :)

I ran revolvers for a couple of years.  I didn't feel that I lost a lot of stability.  They do cause axle wrap and allow you springs to bend in situations normal shackles do not.  They do help with flex. (traction)  I still have an old set if you want one cheap.

To answer the question.  of course it can be done.  In my experience a well built leaf pack will yield equal or more flex, and better performance.
