I also heard that on Sat. a quad rider crashed w/o a helmet and had to be air lifted out.

These are always really sad stories, and I just hope that they are never used against the 4WD community by those who are trying to shut down events, or whatnot. I almost got tear jerked when I read on pirates,

Quoteatleast i can take comfort in that you passed doing what you loved to do. I know you had a smile on your face while you were doing it.

I know this may not be the case with all accidents like this, but he was not drinking and had his seatbelt on. Even Aron heard it described as being a harmless accident....................

I never met the guy, never even heard of him, but I can relate to those who were close because Marlin lost his best friend who was a good family friend when a modification to his Yota broke while driving home from an event on a twisty mountain road. He lost his steering and went right off the road and passed away....also not to mention about our coworker Dean..

I hope his family and close friends are doing alright.

Ramrod

RIP dave, I met him thursday morning and he was one cool kid.  We were hanging out all week and the last I saw of him was friday night at about 2AM on backdoor.  Like that one guy yelled out loud while you were going back down it you made the hammers your pregnant dog.  I wont ever forget this and it just makes you think about things and slow down

Hyena

He wasn't drunk when he did it.  he was wearing his lapbelt but not the shoulder harness's.  we were playing around in the middle of a bottle rocket war right before that and having a great time.  he wanted to go do another trail but everyone was so tired.  i went bed right after that.  i guess it happened a little after i left.  i heard about it in the morning and couldn't believe it.  if only we had gone on that trail run that night, he would still be here today.

Ramrod

brad dont think of it that way.  He died doing something he loved and thats the end.  If we had gone on that trail run it would have been bad new and he might not have been the only one being posted about.  The hammers are no joke and should not be taken lightly

the quad rider dumped it on the other side of the lakebed. i went there after it happened to see if they needed me to call 911. they said they had help coming. he was alert and talking. but no one was going to move him and he knew not to try and move himself.

he was saying that he couldnt feel his legs. not sure how it went for him after his trip out of there.
