I figured i would post up some pics of my new rig since I have been lurking around here for a few months.  I used to have a semi built back halfed YJ, but I parted it out last year.  I picked up this rig a few months back pretty much built up.  All I have done is fix some wiring issues, bob the bed, add rock rails and a winch plate.

Here are the specs:

1991 regular cab
SAS
5.29 gears
Spools
30 spline longs
dual cases with 4.7:1 in the rear case
35s
rear springs up front, trail gear springs out back

Here is a shot of my old jeep

and here is a shot of the toyota when I got it

and how it sits now

I plan on swapping out the spools, lowering it down a little, tossing on some 37s and adding a cage.

Looks like a good start, keep us posted.

looks fun!!! cages are good!!

cages add weight and grab onto things, most of the time on our trails they just get in the way.

Engine, that was one stout little 3rd gen when you got it. lookin good!

As for the cage, it will only be an in cab cage, I am not a big fan of exos

here are some updated pics, I mounted the winch the other day and trimmed up the grille to fit around it

here are some updated pics.  I have had the rig out a few times and I am pretty happy with it.  The 35s are on their way out in favor of 38 inch SXs and staun beadlocks.

Detroits.  I will have to do one end at a time because of $$$.  I do plan on hydro assist to make it more liveable.

They are 15x8s,  I wanted to jump to 17s but I decided on SXs so I had to stick with the 15s.

As for the Jeep, it was a good jeep, I was sad to tear it down, but overall I am happier with the toyota.  It is nice to not get lumped in with the jeep crowd.  Although I do still moderate on a jeep forum

I got my 38s on with staun internal beadlocks.  The stauns were not the most fun install ever, but I am happy now that they are on

Here are a few updated shots, I have added a cage and a few new dents.  I am swapping out the shackles and relocating the rear shackle hangers to improve my rear shackle angle.
Sorry for the blurry pics, my camera was acting up

that is a new offroad park outside of Austin, TX.  It is a good thing because other than this place I am dragging my trailer at least 3 hours to do any wheeling

NorCalToy

Why is it that most, not all, trucks have more damage on the drivers side than the side they cant see? Just seems weird that you get more dents on the side you can see...

Anyways, sick truck!!

probably becasue your willing to get closer to that side thinking you can see and then realize (too late) that you re to close and now have rock rash on the driver side... :dunno:  totally pulled tha outta my ass, but seems logical enough to me

Now I know you wanted bigger tires on there probably for clearance reasons, but did the old 35" cooper stt's ever let you down?  I'm wondering cause I'm looking into buying a set for my rig.
